Fund for Adams, Cheshire and Savoy Awards Grant to Elder Services
Ten local organizations, including Elder Services, recently received a total of $34, 000 in grants from the William J. and Margery S. Barrett Fund for Adams, Cheshire and Savoy, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (BTCF). Mrs. Barrett established the Fund in 1995 to support initiatives improving the quality of life for residents in Adams, and expanded the program to Cheshire and Savoy this year. With advice from an advisory committee, the BTCF reviewed applications and made the awards in June.
Elder Services of Berkshire County’s Meals on Wheels program received a $1,500 grant to help offset the increased cost of delivering almost 130 meals daily to homebound residents in Adams, Cheshire and Savoy.
