Yes, there are vacancies in Congregate Housing...Interested?

Congregate Housing is a community housing option that offers shared living in subsidized housing. Residents have comfortable private rooms, which they can decorate to their own taste, and the rest of the apartment is shared by the housemates, including the kitchen, dining room and living room.

The Congregate Housing Program at Elder Services serves individuals in Berkshire County who are age 60 and over; or persons between the ages of 18 and 59 who qualify for subsidized housing, and would benefit from a living arrangement that offers professional as well as social support. The Congregate residents must be medically stable, not require 24-hour care and be able to live safely with others without behaviors that would be disruptive to the other residents or infringe on their rights. The needs of each resident are evaluated carefully by a homecare professional and, if appropriate, they can receive assistance with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meals, cleaning of private as well as community spaces and day activities such as Adult Day Health or Social Day programs. The support and structure of living in congregate housing helps residents remain socially and physically connected with the community. Regular professional monitoring provides an ongoing assessment of each tenant’s needs and services will be adjusted accordingly.

Congregate apartments are located in Pittsfield, Lenox and Stockbridge and there are current openings available. For more information, call Elder Services at (413) 499-0524 or 1 (800) 544-5242.
