Promotion of Nancy McCarthy to Residential Service Coordinator
Elder Services Client Services Director, Robert P. Dean, has announced the promotion of Nancy McCarthy to Residential Service Coordinator at the senior housing complex at St. Joseph’s Court, 85 Eagle Street in North Adams. The position was created through a collaboration between Elder Services and St. Joseph’s Court Associates, and provides enhanced health, social and educational offerings to the residents.
McCarthy, an Elder Services case manager since 1993, earned her B.S. from Arizona State University in Tempe, and has worked as an Elder Services’ Protective Services worker, as the North Adams Regional Hospital Case Management Liaison, and as Intake Case Manager for Elder Services’ former North Adams office. She will work 20 hours a week at her St. Joseph’s Court office, working with the 93 residents by assessing residents’ needs, coordinating access to such services as personal care, housekeeping, money management, health insurance counseling, and Meals on Wheels, and monitoring the services delivered for effectiveness and quality.
Residents who are not eligible for state funded services may privately purchase services as well as participate in all social and educational activities. McCarthy will collaborate with representatives of other local agencies and organizations, including Sandra Lamb, director of the Spitzer Senior Center in North Adams, to bring in services and activities responsive to the residents’ needs and interests.
McCarthy, a Williamstown native, is married to Michael McCarthy and has two sons.
