Pump up the volume with products that aid people with hearing loss

Sound Enhancer - This portable amplifier increases sound up to 50 decibels. It’s compact enough to fit in your pocket, yet powerful enough to pick up bird calls from 100 yards away. Use it at home while watching television or take it with you to the movies or theater.

Amplified Telephones - All of the phones we carry allow for tone adjustment, which is as effective as amplification for some people. Adjusting the tone enables you to get more of the higher pitch that many people find harder to hear. A new amplified telephone is a cordless, amplified telephone with big buttons that add up to 40+ dB of extra volume. Most commercially available cordless phones are less than one-tenth as loud.

Amplified Answering Machine - Ameriphone’s Easy Recall Digital Answering Machine has a powerful amplifier and a high-fidelity speaker. With adjustable Tone and Play Speed controls, you can easily fine-tune the replaying of your messages to best suite your hearing needs.

Alerting Devices - These products use flashing lights or enhanced audiotory cues to get the attention of the hearing-impaired individual:

Remote Horn - Having trouble hearing the telephone or the doorbell, especially in a remote location? The Sonic Alert Remote Horn will sound a loud (75+ dB) low frequency horn when it receives a signal from one of the Sonic Alert signaling devices. The horn can be plugged in anywhere in the house because it receives the signal over he electric household circuit.

Lamp Flasher - This remote alert unit will flash any lamp that is plugged into it when it receives a signal from any of the Sonic Alert signaling devices - even if the signaling devices are in another room.

Either of the two alerting options above must be hooked up to at least one of the following signalers:

Doorbell signaler - Flashes a lamp when someone rings the doorbell. It can be installed on an existing doorbell or use the doorbell button that is included. Plug any lamp into the outlet on the device.

Baby Cry Signaler - Features an adjustable sensitivity control that can be set to alert you to sounds as soft as a baby’s whisper. Plug it into any outlet in the baby’s room, and put a Lamp Flasher wherever you wish to be notified of the baby’s needs.

Phone Signaler - Plug in the telephone and the signaler flashes a lamp for you when the telephone rings. You can also use he Telephone Signaler to send a signal to a Lamp Flasher in another room.

Personal Pager with Vibrating Alert - This wireless pager system enables coworkers or family members to get the attention of someone with a hearing impairment simply by pressing the button on the transmitter. The pager will chime loudly when alerted. There is also a vibrating model for people with a severe hearing loss. The system has a 100-foot range, so it is ideal if you are confined to a bed, have limited mobility or work in a noisy office. Because it is battery-operated, this system is entirely portable.

Sonic Boom Clock - The volume is adjustable up to 110 dB (louder than an average smoke detector). Or, you can be woken with vibration from an optional bed shaker or flashing lights.
