Elder Services produces Cable TV programs aimed at older adult issues
The weekly cable television show, Berkshire Senior, produced by Elder Services offers programs on issues faced by older adults in Berkshire County. Programs have included Alzheimer’s Disease, Options in Health Insurance, Safe Driving , and Osteoporosis Prevention.
Elder Services has produced Berkshire Senior TV for nearly 10 years. The goal is to provide Berkshire elders and those who care about them with knowledge in areas important for successful aging. The half hour programs are produced at Pittsfield Community Television, and distributed to all other cable access outlets in the county for presentation to their audiences.
The hosts of the programs rotate among Elder Services’ senior staff. The fall schedule include the following programs:
"Staying Involved"- hosted by Roger Suters and Angela Fields; Guests are Claire Roy of Williamstown and Fred Trzcinka of Pittsfield.
"All About Alzheimer’s Disease" - hosted by Jeanne Siegel with guests Beth Parker O’Brien of Williamstown and Beth Hinkley of Pittsfield.
"Diabetes on the Increase" - hosted by Robert Dean with guest Candace Luca of Berkshire Health Systems.
"Keeping Warm this Winter" - hosted by Stephanie Talanian with guest Alan Silverstein of the Center for Environmental Technology.
"Hospice in the Berkshires" - hosted by Robert Dean with guest Claire Pace of Hospice Care In The Berkshires.
"Paying for Health Care" - hosted by Stephanie Talanian with guests Nancy Stoll and Jim Smith.
The show airs on all four public cable stations in the county. Check with your local station for days and times.
