Elder Services promotes Lungo to Client Services Director

Elder Services has promoted Lisa Lungo to Director of Client Services. As Director of Client Services, Lungo will manage the Home Care, Protective Services, Health Services and Housing Programs and will be responsible for their operation and development.

Lungo began her career at Elder Services in 1995 as a Protective Service worker, conducting investigations into cases of alleged abuse, neglect and exploitation of elders. In 1998, she was promoted to Housing Programs Supervisor, where she was responsible for the oversight of various community housing options for elders and disabled adults including Adult Family Care, Group Adult Foster Care, Congregate Housing and the Personal Care Attendant Program. The Personal Care Attendant Program is a Medicaid program, new to Elder Services, that allows individuals in need of care to hire, train and schedule their own personal care aides.

"These are both challenging and exciting times," said Lungo. "We are facing funding cuts as well as changes to the very structure of the elder service delivery system in Massachusetts. At the same time, we are in a position to look creatively and collaboratively at how we can best meet the needs of Berkshire County elders. I am pleased to be part of the senior management team that will help direct the organization and its staff in this mission."

Lungo received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from St. Joseph’s College in Gorham, Maine. She served in the U.S. Public Health Service and worked extensively in the area of mental health nursing prior to coming to Elder Services. She resides in Pittsfield with her husband, Pete.
