The Third Annual Caregiver Resource EXPO, featuring exhibitors representing a range of agencies, services, and useful products for caregivers, will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., April 5, 2006 at the Crowne Plaza, One West Street, Pittsfield. The EXPO is co-sponsored by Elder Services of Berkshire County and the Berkshire Alzheimer’s Partnership. The program includes a light supper.
There will be a presentation by keynote speaker Leslie Fishbein M.D. entitled, “Is There a Lifejacket for America’s Caregivers?” Fishbein is the Medical Director of the Primary Care Outreach Team at Berkshire Medical Center. The Primary Care Outreach Team provides multidisciplinary mental health consultation to primary care and surgical practices on behalf of outpatients or those hospitalized or residing in a long term care facility. Fishbein’s special interests include geriatric psychiatry, spirituality and healing in psychiatry, and medical student education. Her credentials include bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, psychiatry residency at Yale University, fellowship/chief residency in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She also served as chief of the consult-liaison psychiatry department at the former Boston City Hospital.
