"Don’t miss Prescription Advantage open enrollment!"

Elder Services of Berkshire County wants to remind elders that Prescription Advantage Program is conducting an open enrollment period from September 1 to September 30, 2004.

Prescription Advantage is the state-sponsored prescription drug insurance program that can help Massachusetts residents age 65 and older who do not have prescription insurance coverage.  Any individual 65 or older without coverage is eligible. The fees for this plan are based on income so for most individuals this is the most reasonably-priced option available.

Individuals who recently acquired Medicare Discount Drug cards and who are not already members of Prescription Advantage should call Elder Services to find out whether the program would be suitable for them.

If you are homebound, Elder Services' SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) program has counselors who can come and assist you with your application.

Applications must be received by the state before September 30; we advise that you do not delay in obtaining the forms and information necessary.
