Governor’s Budget Cuts to Elder Programs

On June 30, Governor Romney made the following cuts to the elder programs budget:

1. Home Care - Total Cuts $3.419 M

including $2.416 M in cuts to in-home services to elders through purchased services, and $999,827 in cuts to the case management and administrative costs of providing this Home Care.

2. A $590,000 cut to the Councils on Aging

3. Nearly $1 M cut, to wipe out the Congregate Housing Program
